Describe the bug
i3-wm version 4.25-1 is crashing i3ass, it will not move from float into tabbed: where I then can move the windows in to the layout I have in my config.
set $layout 'AB=2811 AC=559 BD=787'

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
install version 4.25-1

Expected behavior
i3fyra move the windows in to the layout as containers. ABCD

Downgraded the i3-wm to 4.24-1 and the issue goes away.

wow new i3 version! Try using the -git version of i3ass. I have deleted my AUR and has not made a proper new i3ass release, but i think there are some bug fixes that you don't have if you use the latest commited version, either by installing i3ass-git or "building" from source.

I can't replicate the issues, if they still persist after updating i3ass, see if you can get some output by adding --verbose flag to the problematic i3run/i3fyra commands

Might be related to this new bug in i3: https://github.com/i3/i3/pull/6563

i just realized that even though i had i3 version 4.25 installed i was using my own for of the earlier version. but i tried this new 4.25 and now and can still not replicate the issue, neither the one you submitted or those related to the i3 bug.

    1. updated to i3-wm 4.25-1
    1. built i3ass-next from source just minutes ago

Was not able to recreate any of the bugs or behaviour as described above, works fine for me

yeah, most likely this was related to the new i3 bug, but i could never recreate it either. I expect an official i3 bugfix release any day ( https://github.com/i3/i3/issues/6572 ) but for anyone reading this, that has issues, i recommend trying to build i3 from source. I will keep this issue open for a while after the bugfix release is out, incase there actually is something funky in i3ass that causes the crash.
